Louise Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun

Louise Elisabeth was completely self taught. At a young age of twenty eight, she was admitted into the French Academy. Out of all those accepted in the school, she was one of four female members to attend. She is known for her sympathetic portraits of women. She was forced to leave Paris during the Revolution and she travelled through Europe. She left a legacy of 660 portraits and 200 landscapes and they may of found in many major museums.
