Art and Women

Leah Schrager is a female artist whose meduims consist of photography, painting, and web-based art. Her pieces of art focus on the female body and its relationship in art. She refers to a tool used in art by many called "man hands." She explains that a woman's body becomes valued in art when it goes through the hands of a male artist. The relationship of power between men and women in the art world is illustrated in her works. Therefore, her art focuses on changing that dynamic and receiving the same result.
