Fall 2017 Semester Project

ART, WOMEN & SCIENCE

My semester project consists of all three concepts in one project: art, women, and science. I feel strongly passionate about this topic in particular because of how many women are not recognized with their work. Or the fact people say, "Oh she's a woman, what can she do!" and that phrase stays with many women throughout their life. And I want to portray that women are strong and they can do anything they would like to do. I want to twist the art, women and science theory and make it so that I can either get scientists who were women artists, or them itself because science is a type of art. Or have women artists who "paint like their paintings are science". I am having a lot of difficulty in that area. But, a big part of my project is appreciating women and how they are essential in this world. And how when they do anything it is amazing and outstanding. I plan on presenting with a "documentary" type of video because it is interesting and it always keeps the audience's attention. On the side of the video I will have a poster with information, pictures, or facts which are essential to my project. I feel very passionate about this especially because women are doubted on a daily basis about how they cannot accomplish anything and I want to fight that norm. In the project I want to prove how there is still sexism in the world and women fight everyday to make that disappear. Then I want to add the idea of "realism" because of the fact it is a part of science.
